The DealCater software is owned by the Finnish tech company Nordic Resolutions Oy, based in Turku.
The company develops software solutions for the HORECA industry. The founders have years of experience in both, the restaurant and IT/software industries.
How did it all begin?
''I worked in various roles in the restaurant industry for over a decade. In 2018, I got a grain allergy due to occupational exposure, and I transitioned out of hands-on work to become the head chef at Restaurant 3rd Line and the person responsible for catering sales.
I quickly realized that catering sales were a complex and time-consuming process. Endless email exchanges and vague requests for proposals were overwhelming me and the resources required for the job.
My employer, Rasmus Niittyvaara, and I sat down to brainstorm whether we could come up with something to streamline the process.''

Prototype
The first prototype was called the Buffet Machine. The idea was to allow customers to build their own menus. At the same time, we could gather immediate answers to all necessary questions to make realistic proposals possible.
Immediately after the prototype's launch, over 90% of proposals were submitted through the Buffet Engine.
Demo Version
The feedback from the prototype was excellent, and the number of proposals received confirmed its value. Development had to continue, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, plans changed, and the idea was put on hold.
In the meantime, the partners of Nordic Resolutions, Henri and Julius, founded the IT company Sivulle.com.
A few years went by, and finally, in the fall of 2023, it was decided to continue development. Sivulle.com built the first version of the dynamically pricing Buffet Machine, designed once again to streamline operations.
After testing the demo version, we quickly realized that the restaurant industry needed collaboration, and the software should be made available to other restaurant colleagues.
This is how Nordic Resolutions Ltd. was founded in 2024.
Due to high interest from the restaurant industry and new development ideas, the software's functionalities have expanded. While the Buffet Engine still plays a crucial role, it’s time to talk about a comprehensive software solution, not just one feature within the software.
Due to international demand, the software received its new name, DealCater!
